Gaining real-world experience: International student Sara Lorca Garrido’s experience with the Global Career Accelerator

The С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ track and field team delivered a historic performance at the NCAA East Preliminary Round, qualifying multiple athletes for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The meet took place at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida, and it proved to be a record-breaking stage for the Bulls.

Victoria Brown is pursuing her PhD in Geography and Environmental Science and Policy, with a focus on East African coffee farming. This fall, she will travel to Tanzania through a Boren Fellowship to study Swahili and perform research for the 2025-26 academic year.

Third-year С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ student Ashley Parow, a history and political science double major, was selected for the 2025 Critical Language Scholarship Program to study Arabic language and culture in Amman, Jordan.

When Hilda Sheridan-Hewlett moved from London, England to Tampa, FL. to study literature and film, she was so swept away by the natural beauty of the local beaches that she decided to write and direct a short film. The final product, “Lost in the Current," has so far been screened at five film festivals.

Bridging international experiences into lifelong learning: 2025 Florida Lessons from Abroad Conference 
On April 4th, 2025, the second annual Florida Lessons From Abroad Conference was hosted by the С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ Judy Genshaft Honors College and С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ World, bringing together students from across the state to build international connections, share their study abroad experiences, and broaden their academic and professional networks.
